Trip From Dubuque, Iowa to Long Beach, California

My parents and  I are in California now. It took a long day of traveling and having enough patients for all the people at the airports and tolerating my parents all day long. It all started out Wednesday morning. We drove to Rockford, Illinois and took a bus to O'hare Chicago, Illinois. Once we got to the airport we had to go through baggage check and then have the people check out tickets and our ID cards. I could just tell my parents and I were all ready irritated with one another. Once all that was on we went down to where we would board to get on the plane. Plane time.

Finally we were on the plane getting ready to leave for California. But when I got to my seat, my TV was broken. Nothing on the screen was showing up. Everyone else's TV worked but mine didn't. I had to wait like an hour into the flight till the TV started working. I got irritated at what was on the TV so I just watched a movie on my lap top. The rest of the flight was a breeze.

Now, we're in Long Beach, California. Time to go get the luggage. Fresh air! It's been a year since I last smelled ocean air. The breeze was nice, since it was so hot on the plane. Once we finally got our luggage, we went across the street to go get the rental car. We got the rental car and then left and headed for my grandparents house. We socialized with them for a while and then headed for Mar Vista, California (which is where we are staying at). Then it was bed time. I was BEAT. Nothing like a long day of traveling to help you fall asleep; sound asleep at night.

The Best Day of My Teenage Life

I would have to say that April 5th, 2011 was the best day of my life. I'll tell the whole story. It all started when, Mrs. Rush handed out permission slips to do a practice with this Violin Rock Band called Barrage. So, I was thinking I should do it because it sounds fun. I was having a hard time deciding, until.. Mrs. Rush showed us a video of them. They were super good! So I signed up. When we got to the Grand Opera House in Down Town Dubuque Iowa, we saw them setting up on stage. I was like "Oh they're cool. They look so professional!" When we got the the Grand Opera House, everything was so cool and old.

When we got on stage to practice with Barrage, they introduced their selves. Maddie and I couldn't see half of them. So when Taylor and Daniel said their names, we got those two mixed up. We thought Taylor was Daniel and Daniel was Taylor. But by the end of the concert we figured out who was who. Through the whole concert, it was pretty epic. You gotta see them.


When they said they were taking autographs out in the lobby... Maddie, Sara, Whitney, and I all sprinted out of there and got in line to get autographs from Taylor, Daniel, Charles, Hidayat, Tim, Lindy, Kristina, and Kiana. We were soo enthusiastic about this. We couldn't stop talking, jumping, screaming, and calming down. So while our parents were trying to calm us down, I had an idea to see if Taylor and Daniel would sign my hand. As I walked up there, I could tell none of my friends were paying attention to me. I walked up to Daniel very slowly. I asked him: "Daniel, will you please sign my hand? (:" I had a huge smile on my face. Then after he signed my left hand, I walked up to Taylor and just as I was about to ask him to sign my hand, he walks up to me and HUGS me!!!! I SCREAMED! I ran back to my little group and I scream: "TAYLOR HUGGED ME!!!!!!" Everyone in the crowd saw it. They all went AHHHHH!!!! They were jealous I could tell. Then we left.. Of course I'm the only one still sorta freaking out.


On the car ride home, I'm sitting in the back with Sara and Maddie. We're laughing and I'm sticking my head out the car window-all the excitement made my face get red and I was like dying back there with 2 other people. Plus, we were talking about Taylor. Of course that made my face more red. Then it was time for beddy bye time. I kept waking up every hour checking on my hand signatures. They were perfectly fine.

By the time I woke up the next morning, Taylor's signature was on my right leg and Daniel's was on my left leg. I slept with my hand underneath me! Haha!! Now. it was time to go to school. Everyone was laughing at me. Then Mr. Powers say my hands and told me I had to wash them and get rid of the signatures. DIDN'T HAPPEN! Lets just say that this year has been the best year yet!

Long and Tiring Day of All State Orchestra

So, yesterday I had to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to be reading by 6:30 to head to Hempstead to meet with all the orchestra teachers and then head off to Cedar Falls, Iowa. Which is about 1.5 hours from Dubuque. As we were on the road, I was in the car with Maddie and her parents. After about 30 minutes, I had just realized that it was raining. I was extremely tired. While we were driving, I decided how many marshmallows I could stick on my face. I got about 8. I ripped them all off and ate them. Then Angela licks her thumb and starts cleaning my face! We were hyper the whole entire time. When the high school orchestra was performing.. their conductor had bouncy hair!!! Haha.. Poor parents.. I don't feel bad at all. I got 9th chair, Maddie got 7th, Whitney got 1st, Kelly got 5th and Sarah got 11th! Good job everyone!!!! :)

Bestest Of Friends

I have the bestest of friends ever. Madi of course is my wife(: Justin is my favorite cello player, Maddie is my favorite stand partner, Sara is my favorite break no rules girl, I wish Taylor Morris was my best friend, Whitney is my favorite soccer player, Sarah her last name looks like salad, Kelly loves unicorns (Which do not exist) Mr. Norman best band teacher ever, Ariel she reminds me of a mermaid, and I save the best for last ANGELA!!! My other mom(:... I love my best friends. They are the best friends a girl could ever ask for(: <3

Orchestra Is Awesome But Tiring

So, I had an Orchestra Concert last night. I was pretty beat down after that. Considering how hyper I was. Running all around the Auditorium. I had a Track Meet last night too. Right after that I had to go to my orchestra concert. I ran the 400m Dash. Got 2nd place out of 5. Yay! My track coach spazzed on me tell me how great I did last night!! (: Anyways. As we played our music and played our hearts out last night.. I had my little fantasy where Taylor walks in and starts playing with us. I try not to scream in the middle of the concert. I love that fantasy. (: We all wish he was there. This week I have been practicing for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the Cedar Falls All State Honors Orchestra. Me and my friends are leaving for it at 6:30 and will be there around 8:00. Yippe. Which means I will be waking up at 5:30. Can't wait. Anyways. Since I can't go to my final Track Meet tomorrow, Me and Sarah will be wearing our Roosevelt Raptors uniforms to look like complete idiots!! This shall be fun! I'll give you the details tomorrow... If they have WIFI!!! :D <p/>

Another Interesting Day

So today was pretty funny. Considering my amazingly awesome dream I had today. Amazing. Most of all in the library at school. My favorite teacher came in and I had dropped my ID card on the floor.. I was like ahh this is too far down! It's all the way on the ground. My teacher was like your on the ground. It's not that far. But but, It hurts to bend down!! Will you pick it up for me? No. Come ooonnn. Yet I wonder why I surround myself with Middle Schoolers.. I said Well it's because you love us! Who is this us you speak of? All us weirdos! You fit into the group just as well as we do!! He just laughed at me and walked away! Haha interesting day(: I love going to school It's so funny. Any ways.. I had this dream where I got to spend 5 days with Taylor, Kiana, Hidayat, Charles, Tim, Kristina, Lindy, and Daniel. They are all apart of this traveling Violin Rock Band called Barrage. They are the best. My most favorite part was that the hotel didn't have enough rooms for all of us-cause they were packed- so I had to share a room with Taylor. There wasn't a bed just a hide-a-bed and two chairs. So I got the two chairs while Taylor got the hide-a-bed. Hahaha best dream ever!!!

My Dream College

I am hopefully going to ASU for college. It is my dream college. Plus it is close to California. My home state that I can finally call home again. But if I do get into ASU with an full Orchestra Scholarship.. That will be my new home and hopefully everyone will accept me and my talent there. I got about 4 more years to go until college. Until then, I am gonna try my hardest and succeed at my instrument and become the second generation of Taylor B. Morris. <p/>
